  • A Cool Classroom for Cool Kids

    Funded May 21, 2024

We cannot thank you enough for making this project a reality!

Our school technically has air conditioning, but on our side of our 100 year old building, it can't keep up. Before, kids were hot, sweaty, and lethargic due to the heat in our room. Thanks to your donation, we are comfortable at last! Our portable air conditioning unit has been able to keep our room cool, even on those first days of school when the temps nearly hit 100.

We appreciate your support. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Angie Stewart

  • Biography Book Study: Who Was Books for Fourth Graders

    Funded Jan 27, 2024

Thank you so much for bringing this wonderful learning experience to my students!

Students chose a person to research with only a description of their work - no names attached. Then, over the course of a few weeks, my students read about a famous person. They took notes, discussed with partners, and enriched their learning with various media sources. Finally, students made wonderful slideshows with their learning to share with their classmates.

Your donation enabled my fourth graders to learn about many different individuals and their contributions to society, whether public service work by Dolly Parton and Roberto Clemente, research by Jane Goodall, artistic pieces by Mozart and Frida Kahlo, and many more. Thank you again for bringing us a fantastic opportunity to learn about the world!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Angie Stewart

  • Front Desk Novel Study for Fourth Graders

    Funded Jan 18, 2024

We cannot even begin to tell you how grateful we are for your donation of a class set of Front Desk books to our classroom!

I've personally read this book several times with my own children, and I knew it would be a hit with my fourth graders. With your support, two classes were able to enjoy Front Desk. Students laughed until they cried when Jason professed his love for Mia, outraged when Hank faced discrimination, and cheered when the Tangs succeeded. Many students have checked out the following books in the series from the library to continue the story of Mia and her family.

Thank you again for your support of a lifelong love of reading!”

    With gratitude,

  • We Need a Lucky (Horseshoe) Table!

    Funded Jan 1, 2024

We cannot thank you enough for providing our class with a new kidney table!

Thanks to your generosity, we now have an additional workspace for students. My students are in a co-taught special education/general education class, and we are fortunate enough to have a diverse learners teacher to support ALL students. We previously were unable to have a dedicated space for both teachers.

With your support, we now have two areas for students to work with teachers in small groups, which means we are better able to meet the needs of our students. These areas also serve as spaces for partners and groups to team up during group work.

Thank you again for making this project a reality!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Angie Stewart

  • Back to Basics: Markers, Crayons, and Pencils, Oh My!

    Funded Nov 19, 2023

Thank you so much for providing our students with the essential supplies we need for our daily work in class!

In a classroom, we go through many key supplies, like Expo markers and crayons, quickly. It can be difficult to replenish them midyear, yet we still continue learning right up until the very last day of school. Thanks to you, we now have the materials we need for student success. Our Expo markers are used daily for math practice, sharing quick responses, and formative assessments. Crayons and colored pencils are key to adding a little color to our work, color-coding as we annotate, and making published writing pieces.

Thank you again for all you've done for our class!”

    With gratitude,

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for bringing this project to life!

My students are avid readers and love to see new books added to our classroom library. Thanks to you, they have a variety of fiction and nonfiction books to enjoy and share with each other. From high-interest topics like animals and history to favorite series like The Babysitters Club and I Survived, these new books refreshed our library with new and in-demand titles.

Providing students with fresh texts and new books in beloved series is so important to growing and sustaining readers. Thank you for all your do!”

  • Can You Hear Me Now? Good!: Headphones for Fourth Graders

    Funded Mar 20, 2023

Thank you so much for making this crucial project a reality!

Post-pandemic, technology resources for learning have exploded, and students have greater more electronic tools at their fingertips than they ever had before. However, access to essentials, like headphones, has not kept up.

Thanks to you, each one of my students has a pair of headphones in the classroom. This allows my diverse learners and language learners to hear read-aloud texts, increasing their independence. All students benefit, as they can listen to text, watch instructional videos, and create multimedia presentations.

We are so grateful for these critical tools! Thank you again!”
