  • 3D Doodler 4PBL

    Funded Feb 17, 2024

My students have been so excited to use the 3D Doodler pens for our PBL projects. They began by designing a solution to stop erosion in our project based learning. They were able to be creative and use the pens to build or create their designs in a smaller scale. The pens were easy to use and safe. The students loved the options of having lots of colors to choose from. The wanted to use the pens more and more! Other students in our grade level also asked if they could borrow the pens to create their designs as well. Our students were more than happy to share. Again, thank you for your donations!”

  • Hot Off the Press

    Funded Nov 18, 2023

I am so thankful for the support especially after Covid-19, these students went through some things that some students never could’ve imagined happening to them in grade school. Your generous donations with bring so much excitement and joy to the students eyes, they love to create, draw, write their own things and I can’t wait for them to use the materials for their own books.”

  • Flexible Seats and Art Supplies

    Funded Mar 4, 2023

My students ask daily to use the flexible seating and are excited to have the option of changing their seats to fit their needs. The art supplies donated allowed my students to use their creativity and learn how to be responsible students by taking care of the materials.

The students have seen wobbly chairs before in other classrooms and had asked about using them or wondered why they didn't have that option in our own classroom. I gave students a heads up that we were getting them for our own classroom, and they were ecstatic! Once they came in they all asked to help carry them into our classroom and were ready to open it up. Several were asking if they could reserve the chairs for the next day.

I want to be able to provide more options for them to have a choice of what flexible seating options that best meets their needs.”

  • Hooked on Phonics

    Funded Oct 29, 2022

Our students focus on phonics every day since that is foundational for students in second grade. They're working on transitioning into third so that they'll be fluent readers. The students are able to build and spell with the magnetic letters. I love that the vowels are colored red to show the vowels.

My students were super excited to use the new resources. Finding another fun and engaging way to get my students to do their phonics is a plus. Since phonics is a daily lesson that we do, finding multiple ways to keep them interested and engaged is sometimes difficult.

We practice spelling words using the stamps and the magnets during our small group meetings.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Alvarez

  • Express Yourself!

    Funded Mar 6, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting our Hawaii students! Social emotion is so critical at this time, and if there are ways for us to support these students emotionally we must do what we can to encourage and allow for growth and learning. Mahalo for your continuous support for all students.”

  • Printers Help the Thinkers

    Funded Aug 6, 2021

Providing my students with toner for our classroom printer has increased their motivation to learn and complete activities. They're able to print out their pictures that they wanted to add to their informational book after writing a paper on it. They've practiced writing captions under their photographs. They get so excited seeing their research in colored in rather than a black and white copy that they usually get on their class worksheets. Providing them with the convenience of a printer with toner in the classroom has allowed more time for learning in the classroom.

The most exciting thing to my students are actually seeing their photos in color. They see things on the computer that is colored all the time, but not often are things printed off for them in color. They get so excited to see the things from their Chrome books come out into paper. They love seeing their work printed out. When ever we are short on papers or copies, I'm quickly able to make a copy for them. When a student makes a mistake or an error, I'm able to go right to the printer and print out necessary work for them. I'd often get a student who will shut down due to a minor mistake and will often need an extra copy in order for them to get out of their funk.

All my students love using the printer and having prints in color!”

Thank you so much for your donation of our classroom books! We have used the books you donated to do read alouds and practice our learning target or skills for the week with the stories. We've done some awesome art projects that go along with the stories, and built better understandings of how to treat others. Through these books students learn about the social and emotional aspect and how to treat others. When we first received the books, my students were so excited to see all the new books that they've never read before! My students need eight Osmo bases to use with their Osmo kits. Osmo's groundbreaking system fosters social intelligence and creative thinking by opening up the iPad to the endless possibilities of physical play with tangible, hands-on manipulatives. My students recently obtained an Osmo genus kit, with five smart games that transform your iPad into a hands-on learning tool. These award-winning games make core subjects—like math (Numbers) and spelling (Words)—fresh and fun. They also help kids hone essential skills like visual thinking (Tangram), creative problem-solving (Newton), and self-expression (Masterpiece), but only came with a single base. My students also obtained the Osmo pizza kit to practice handling money, and Osmo coding kit. These came with out a base and cannot be utilized until bases are obtained. These Osmo bases will allow students to collaborate on a single device while practicing skills that align with our curriculum and standards. Most importantly, students will be having fun while they learn at their "just right" pace with the support of these Osmo bases. The 10 drawers cart will help us organize our Osmo centers and will be easily accessible for the students and I.
