I teach a group of special education students who experience learned helplessness every day because they were told that their disability hinders their learning. When in reality, all they truly need is to rediscover the joy of learning. And once that light bulb clicks, my students can bring a positive classroom energy that continually inspires and motivates others. Our school provides such a stimulating, collaborative, and safe environment for students of various differences and abilities that students are often celebrated for their diversity and achievements. I work for a school where teachers put students first.
