Have History! Need Travel.

The experience of my students traveling to and competing in the Mississippi History Day competition was phenomenal! Not only did they gain the knowledge about their topics from newly-acquired research skills, but they also gained interview and public speaking skills.

Because of your donations for overnight accommodations, my students were also afforded the opportunity to visit the Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museums on our way to Hattiesburg, knowing that they would have a place to restore and prepare prior to their competition. The lodging was most accommodating and allowed students to make final preparations and enjoy a hearty breakfast before competition. As a result, 12 students won first through third place in their categories, and nine of those students qualify to compete at the National History Day competition!
