I teach a diverse, dynamic and amazing group of 22 Kindergarten students C.P. Smith Elementary School in Burlington, Vermont. C.P. Smith is a safe, respectful, and responsible learning community for all. A growing focus on nature-based and wellness education engages students in learning through project-based learning, outdoor experiences, and connections to the community, both locally and globally. As a classroom teacher I believe the strength is in the community. My classroom is a community built on inquiry, wonder, positive reinforcement, and encouragement to take risks. I believe all children have the right to a high quality education that meets their unique needs as learners. This is achieved through building a classroom community in which all students are challenged, supported and loved.
