  • Drone Pictures

    Funded May 4, 2022

Hooray to all my wonderful donors who believe in technology and funding my project. We were able to get a new drone. Students were able to use an iPad to maneuver the drone and learn how to coordinate its location and take pictures of our school and neighborhood. This is an excellent way to use technology in the classroom, well in this case outside the classroom. We have social studies standards that address our city and neighborhood. Groups of three students must take at least 4 pictures using the drone and write why they think those pictures are important to our city.”

  • Staying Warm to Succeed

    Funded Mar 8, 2022

My students were so excited to get their caps and gloves today. Now each morning they can wear their new gloves and caps keeping them warm while they walk to school.

The cap and gloves are made of quality material and very warm. I took pictures to show their parents who were very appreciative that their children got these items. We all need warm jackets, caps and gloves to keep us warm from the elements. Now all my students have the basic necessities to have a better morning while walking to schoool.”

  • Lulu Needs a Sister

    Funded Jan 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my wonderful third graders. They can't wait to read the book, Lulu Gets a Sister. We love reading as a class and we discuss each chapter in the book.

As my students become more comfortable reading chapter books, the more confidence they will have to read chapter books on their own. My students learn to listen to the book being read to them by our classroom echo dot, and learning new words. My students will be reading in small groups called literature circles in which they discuss the book. I am so grateful for being fully funded.”

  • New Earbuds for a New School Year!

    Funded Nov 5, 2021

My students could not be more excited to use their new earbuds. My third graders use laptops daily in my room. It's going to be a game changer having all my students using their new earbuds. They will be able to really concentrate on their math and reading assignments while using their earbuds.

My students don't like the headphones. Often times their ears get red from having the headphones on for so long. They are uncomfortable and old fashioned.

I can't wait for the new earbuds to arrive. Once again thank you for helping this project come to life!”

  • Dot, Dot, Echo Dot! We Need Echo Dots!

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Hooray for my awesome third graders! Each student can now have their very own echo dot in their home to help them with homework.

My students are learning multiplication and division. Alexa can help them by giving the correct answers. Alexa is like their teacher at home. They can ask her questions and read books to them, make a timer for them, play study music for them and even tell them the weather. The possibilities are endless. I truly believe echo dots are game changers for my students.

Thank you so much for caring so much and donating to this project.”

  • New Document Camera Needed

    Funded Jun 14, 2021

Many thanks to all the generous donations, I received to get my project funded. This updated document camera is fantastic!!! It is modern and brand new. My old document camera was at least 25 years old. My students couldn't see what I was displaying because it couldn't not get in focus.

Now I can focus and make the worksheet or book bold print, enlarge it and freeze it. I had no idea all the new features this document camera came with. My students and I are so lucky. I look forward to using this document camera daily to help my students learn!”

  • Junie B. Where are You?

    Funded Apr 1, 2021

I feel so grateful for such wonderful donors like you. My students will have a class set of third grade level books to read. Each student will have a new chapter book of their very own. It has been so difficult this school year since we have been remote learning for over a year.

My students love reading and now we will be able to read the books and discuss each chapter, and have literacy circles while we are remote learning.

Again, thank you so much for your kind donations. We are very lucky!”

  • Echo Dot and the Power of Time!

    Funded Mar 9, 2021

Hooray! I never thought all my students would have their own echo dot. It's a game changer for all my third graders. They now can make a 20 minute timer for break. They can ask Alexa, how to spell words, multiplication facts and pretty much anything they can think. Parents set them up with no problems and are grateful for having an echo dot. It's like having a teacher in the house one parent emailed me. It's a wonderful technological tool to assist my third graders to becoming academically successful.”

  • No Glitching Laptop Needed!

    Funded Mar 9, 2021

Hooray! Thank you so much for your generous and thoughtful donation to our classroom. This school year has been particularly hard since we have been remote learning all year. My school laptop was pretty old and I wasn't able to share educational video with my students this year. But now I have an opportunity to really make an impact with my students. I can share my screen without glitches and fuzzy screen. I'm so grateful for you thinking of my students and how a new teacher laptop will benefit my third graders.”

  • Remote Learning Techy Tools

    Funded Feb 5, 2021

Thank you so much for your kind generosity. You are amazing. I can't wait for my students to begin using their updated laptops. It's been so difficult this year teaching remotely. Having updated technological equipment will help so much with my students educational successes.

My students will be able to have all the updated software and apps ready to go for them to study and use apps like iReady reading/math, accelerated reader, STmath and google classroom. I don't know if we will be back at school anytime soon but I still need to teach my third graders. I'm so grateful they can have a laptop that works!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Varela

We are a K-6 school. I teach third grade. My students come from a low socioeconomic background. They have limited life experiences and are at-risk students, but I know they are bright and capable of doing anything. They are eager to learn. They come to school daily with smiles on their faces with daily homework completed, waiting to learn. I am so proud of them and how hard my students work each day. For this reason I am hoping I can get one laptop for my class.
