  • Refills Galore

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you so much for your incredible donations and for choosing my classroom to donate to. It really means so much that you decided to help teachers with needs in their classrooms. My students were so happy to get all of the materials included in this project and already we've used up much of what was included in this project. I also appreciate being able to provide these snacks for my students to help out the families as many of them are already struggling at home. When students saw the fun prizes going into our classroom store, they were eager to do well and earn more Tiger Tickets to buy them!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ewing-Murphy

  • Winter Essentials

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you once again for your generous donations to fulfill this project. All of my students thankfully have good winter coats, but not all of them had the rest of the winter accessories such as gloves, hats, and scarves. Even in the winter I try to get our class outside for recess as often as the weather permits, but I want to make sure my students are as comfortable as can be. Our school also promotes outdoor learning within the classroom and on Wilderness Wednesdays when we have community partners coming to do lessons with our school. These donations make it so my students can enjoy the outdoors even during the colder months!”

  • New Math Curriculum: Eureka Squared!

    Funded Oct 23, 2024

Thank you so much for your incredible donoations and for choosing my project to fund. I truly appreciate your help in purchasing the Teachers Pay Teachers giftcards. So far, I've used the gift cards to purchase Eureka Squared Slides that we use to help teach our math lesson. For one, the slides are much more attractive to look at than those supplied by the curriculum. They also include more material than what is supplied by the curriculum. This is especially helpful at it allows me to use my planning time in more beneficial ways, such as planning for small groups, copying, and grading. Therefore, I don't have to use my time outside of work for those activities.”

  • Reading Success

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations and helping get this project funded. Last year our school began professional development in learning about LETRS, which is a program that teaches us the skills to master the fundamentals of learning instruction. During one of the courses the instructor mentioned materials from Really Great Reading and I began to look at what materials I could use for interventions and small groups. My students have really enjoyed using the letter boards in order to spell and manipulate different words that we're learning. The manual has provided me with additional ways to help my students be successful in learning phonics.”

  • Hooray It's Back to School Time!

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

Thank you so much for all of your donations. It means so much to me and my students that you chose our classroom to donate to when they are lots of needs out there. My students have especially loved all of the materials for morning STEM bins. It has been wonderful to see their creativitiy and brains blossom in a different way than during academic learning. The STEM bins have been helpful during indoor recess and Fun Fridays. The other materials have been helping our classroom run as smoothly as possible.”

    With gratitude,

  • Back to School Snacks

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

I am so incrediablly grateful for all of your donations for this project. This project has been so helpful in providing my students with extra snacks and breakfast for those that aren't able to provide on their own. The students have also been so thankful to have a snack throughout the day when they need one. When students don't have to worry about being hungry, then they are more equipped to focus on their learning. I love having people like you all that are willing to donate to help my students succeed.”

  • Large Classroom Rug

    Funded Jul 24, 2023

Thank you so much for all your help in getting this project funded so quickly. It has been a huge help to have this new rug in my classroom. It was also incredible to have it before the school year started so that my routines and procedures could include the rug. I purposefully picked this particular rug because of the size and having identifiable spots for students to sit. The students love the amount of space they have available to space out on and we use it for our STEM tubs during morning bin and indoor recess.”

  • 3 Cheers for SEL!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you so much for all your donations in helping get this social-emotional project funded. In this project I bought resources from the "A Little Spot" series. This series focuses on teaching students how to understand their feelings and how to cope/celebrate those feelings. I love how it is geared toward taking those big emotions and scaling it down to help the younger group understand what it means and how they can recognize it within themselves. I have been able to use these materials with my students from last school year and this school year. I can tell the books and activities included have made an impact in helping those students understand their feelings better. They have been able to communicate with their peers and other adults about what their feeling and what it means to them.”

  • Resources From Teachers Pay Teachers

    Funded Aug 26, 2022

Thank you for your donations in helping fund these gift cards from Teachers Pay Teachers. Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) has been a valuable resource all along my teaching career. I go to it for ideas as well as a variety of resources for every subject. I've been able to purchase morning work, language arts, math, social studies, science, homework, social-emotional activities, and fun learning activities to use within my classroom. I have found it most useful in helping my find activities to help differentiate what I'm doing in my classroom for the level my students are on. Teaching in second grade I have students doing third grade level work all the way down to prekindergarten level. TPT has helped me so that I don't have to spend the time creating those materials myself.”

Hello and Thank you for visiting my page! I currently am a 2nd grade teacher at Merrick Moore Elementary. I teach children from ages 6-9 years old. Apart of being a teacher at Merrick Moore, we serve children that come from low socio-economic backgrounds, children with special needs, and English Language Learners. This will be my second year teaching at Merrick Moore. Being apart of the community at Merrick Moore has provided me with so many wonderful teaching experiences and while at times it may be challenging, it is always worth it in the end. That being said because of the population we serve it is important to teach social-emotional skills and provide lots of hands-on learning experiences. We also have lots of students suffering from toxic stress and it is important to also provide different kinds of sensory input for those children. I would greatly appreciate any help that can be given, thanks again!
