Funded Apr 4, 2015Your donation has had an incredible impact on the film program at our school. Almost immediately upon opening the boxes, my students began talking about how they could use the equipment to create better camera effects. Shooting scripts were being rewritten specifically to use the slider and the jib, and it has become a point of pride to be the one responsible for updating the production slate. Those first juniors are now seniors, and we have a new class of juniors embarking on their journey.
To see the results of the equipment in action, I invite you to check out our You Tube channel called "Holly Woodrow Films." At the moment, the earliest of the first student films (when the first class were juniors) are featured, but we are about to add their latest projects as seniors, and we look forward to adding first efforts of the new class of juniors soon. And in May of 2016, we will be hosting our first film festival of student work at our school, showcasing the final projects of our IB candidates.
My students are getting adventurous with their movie making, even somewhat socially conscious, which is entirely due to your generosity. Two of the original 12 seniors are specifically exploring colleges with film programs, but all of them have grown artistically thanks to the equipment.”
With gratitude,
Mr. McGhee
