Funded Mar 11, 2016There are so many wonderful ways that these tablets have impacted instruction in my classroom. We are in a Bring Your Own Device district, but being in a high poverty school, not all of my students have access to tablets or smartphones. These tablets have made it possible for my students to utilize technology in the classroom. They allow me to be able to use programs like www.ixl.com and www.khanacademy.com in my instruction, and tailor that instruction to each student's individual needs, based on their strengths and weaknesses.
My students like that they can work on assignments that are appropriate for their learning, and that they are able to to so in the classroom, and not have to have their routine disrupted by having to go to the computer lab. We are also able to have a technology station on our Monday Math Missions as well. Monday Math Missions allow the students to practice skills in hands on activities, and we can now use technology in that piece.
