I teach language arts and social studies to "5th Grade Super Scholars" at a very diverse, low income school in Oklahoma. Many of my students read below grade level, which negatively affects their success on all other subjects as well. Further, many of my students have never left their neighborhood, and have parents who haven't gone to college. I want to inspire my students to be life-long learners and readers, opening their minds to the world beyond their neighborhood and preparing them for future success.
