Read Me A Story!
Funded Aug 23, 2015The students in my class were so excited to receive all of these nonfiction books! It was like watching children in a candy store. They were so excited to touch and see their new classroom books. They couldn't wait to get their hands on them and look at the animals, community workers, and the dinosaur books were a huge hit! They wanted to be able to take the books home the night we opened the package!
The way this project has benefited my students is that they are now able to take any book they choose home and read it based on their interest! They no longer have to wait until Wednesday; which is the regularly scheduled library day. If they choose, they can have a book go home with them every single night.
This project has enabled my students to follow their interest in learning, based on the high-quality material that you helped provide for them. We are currently working on a community helpers unit, and these books have been a tremendous resource! Thank you all so much for your support! I appreciate it and so do my students!”

Oh the Places You'll Go!
Funded Jan 12, 2015My students were so excited the day I was able to open the package with the iPad in it! They were cheering and so excited they could hardly stand it. They kept saying, "Can we use it?"
We have been able to use the iPad in so many different ways. Children are able to practice their handwriting, in a fun, magical way! They think it's a game and they don't realize that they're learning the correct formation of letters! They also are able to play math games to support addition and subtraction; while other students may still be working on counting. We are able to do so many different things all with one tool! It is truly amazing!
Kids are also able to access books that they can listen to and tap into their interest. They have an entire library at their fingertips!
Students give up free choice time to use the iPad, and hurry to get their snow clothes off so they can gain extra iPad time. What a motivator!!!! I thank you from the bottom of my heart. We are thoroughly enjoying this new iPad!”

We just did an entire fox unit and used National Geographic online and read stories on the iPad. We were able to see their dens and research immediately, as children asked questions.
