  • iLearn with iPads!

    Funded Aug 27, 2016

Our project has had great success within the classroom. Our students use the iPads nearly every day in some capacity. Most recently we have used them for researching the Iditarod. The kids are having fun learning about the mushers that they will be following and cheering on during the race. We have used the iPads in math to practice math facts in a fun and engaging way.

When we received the iPads our kids were very excited! They had been sharing one or two, when we were able to sign them out, so having their own was cause for celebration. They were really looking forward to being able to use them as part of their individual work, as well as for group assignments.

All my students have benefited greatly from your donation. I have found that my students who do not have access to this type of technology at home have benefited the most. They have learned how to use the iPads appropriately and to learn in a fun way. We are very grateful that we have been able to gain access to these wonderful tools!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rocheford

  • An "Apple" a Day...

    Funded Oct 19, 2015

Our project has had great success within the classroom. Our students use the iPads nearly every day in some capacity. Most recently we have used them for researching different countries around the world for our Multi-cultural Night celebration. These tools are also used in math, for specialized individual programs that grow with our children's learning, which is an amazing asset. We have been using similar tools in literacy as well, so the students may interact with their reading and go on an in depth, technology integrated adventure!

When we received the iPads our kids were very excited! They had been sharing one or two, when we were able to sign them out, so having their own was cause for celebration. They were really looking forward to being able to use them as part of their individual work, as well as for group assignments. We started using them immediately and the students still get excited every time they get to use one, because it centralizes their learning in one easily accessible and engaging place.

Because technology has become such a large part of society, many of our students are actively involved in a variety of its outlets at home. By using our iPads, something that they have a lot of experience with outside of school, they are much more comfortable with their assignments. Several were able to immediately jump into assignments because of their experience with the same technology in their everyday lives. These are the students that begin benefiting from the iPads right off the bat. The rest of our kids are having a lot of success as well. Even though not all have had the same amount of experience, they are now being introduced to the use and care of these tools in the classroom and have gained a high level of comfort with using them. We have seen a spike in independence, problem solving, and critical thinking in terms of our new technology, which is encouraging growth in our classroom. We are very grateful that we have been able to gain access to these wonderful tools!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rocheford

My school rests in a small town New Hampshire suburb. Our students are an eclectic group of bright and inquisitive individuals. They always seek to learn more and grow both academically and personally. In our community opportunities are not always provided to these beacons of our future. In a financially underprivileged area, the teachers here arrive every day with endless stamina and resolve to aid in growing these young minds to greater heights. Unfortunately this process is hindered by limited resources, where the staff simply has to make due.
