Fishing for Fabulous Readers
Funded Dec 31, 2014I cannot show enough gratitude to each one of you for providing our students with the resources they need to be successful. This is just a small way to say thank you for the guided reading books your funding has provided. My students are in love with exploring and reading for comprehension and fluency enrichment. One of my students told another student, "Having new books in the classroom helps me become a better reader." She also told a friend that her mom has to make her put down her books at night to go to sleep.
The impact of your donation is helping my students achieve new levels every day. My students will have a better chance of reaching their goal at the end of 1st grade. We use the books every day to study different genres of literature. We also the guided readers to compare between fiction and non-fiction, sentence structure, and the plot of the story.
My students are really getting hooked on reading. You have helped create life-long learners. Thank you again for your generous support.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Norris
This classroom project was brought to life by Boone Family Foundation and 4 other donors.Reading Can Change Lives...Books Are Needed!
Funded Sep 5, 2014First, I want to thank you for donating to our classroom. We were extremely excited to receive the boxes of books provided from your generous donations. You have made our classroom a magical and joyous adventure.
We use the books during our Daily 5 rotation for reading and math. Students are spending an average of 45 to 60 minutes a day improving their comprehension, self-connection to text, and reading fluency. We use the books with partners or silent reading to ourselves. We have also used the books in small group time.
My students have the biggest smiles when reading to me, their partner, or by themselves. Your generosity made all of this possible and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Norris
