Earthquake Supplies For Alaska Secondary School
Funded May 15, 2014It was a long time ago that you made your generous contribution to the great kids at Steller so we could purchase our earthquake preparedness supplies. Despite multiple revisions in the original supply request, we now have all the items we needed. It feels wonderful knowing that in the event there is a major disaster in Anchorage, we are well on the way to handling it appropriately.
I remember that day last spring break when I checked my email from home and saw that you had supported our Donors Choose request. It made not only my day, but my week and probably my month! Nurses have a huge responsibility to the students who are under our care during school hours and we all take that responsibility seriously. It was distressing to me that as long as Steller has existed, there were nominal supplies were in place for disaster preparedness. Now I can rest easier knowing that is no longer the case!
Thank you so much, Jonathan. You are a giver, bar none. It strengthens my faith in humanity knowing that there are people like you living in our area. The students at Steller really appreciate your generosity and believe me when I say, that I certainly do. I am a nurse who, on occasion, actually stays awake at night milling over concerns about these kids. Now I can rest more easily.
Enjoy the beginning of our lovely winter season and please drop by sometime so the new principal and the students can thank you in person for your kindness.”

Souper Soup Project In Anchorage Alaska
Funded Feb 7, 2013Thank you for your generous donations to our school's Super Soup project. Since we were able to procure supplies with your donations, the money earned from school functions can be used to buy food for next school year. Therefore, we're happy to announce that these Friday soup luncheons will continue.
Our secondary students are receiving a hot lunch with homemade bread at no cost to them every Friday during the school year. Not only do they receive a healthy meal, but experience camaraderie with other students and their parents, as well learn new skills in the kitchen.
Thank you again for making it possible for us to continue this very successful project.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. McCarron
