Tikis
Funded Oct 24, 2012Thank you so very much for the numerous art supplies that you provided for our classroom. We were able to complete our project "Tikis" and they are proudly displayed in our school library. I have received numerous comments about how beautiful they are and how they make the library a more inviting place for our students.
To create the bright colors we used the premium tempera paint six gallon set. These high quality paints insured that we had intense colors. The students were also able to learn color theory by mixing their own secondary and tertiary colors.
Since one of the goals of our project was to use recycled materials we constructed the tikis out of cardboard. This was only possible because we had the steel Olfa scissors that don't break when you use them. Also for cutting out small pieces we used the Xacto knife blades. These tools worked wonderfully.
Finally the three complete class sets of synthetic brushes and detail brushes made it possible for the students to paint their tikis with a high degree of craftsmanship.
With the exception of the paint all the supplies donated will be able to be used in the years to come. So not only did you help my current 140 studio art students but you will be helping many more students in the years to come.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Campitelli
