Eye on the Prize
Funded Aug 15, 2024We all want to thank you very much for sponsoring our wish list. Without your help we would have never been able to get new speakers, book bins, supply desk bins, and wiggle seats.
Everyone of us love having the supply desk bins and book bins right at our tables to store our belongings in. Being in middle school, we move to different classes throughout the day and it is often hard to keep track of everything. With these materials, we always know that when we come to Science class we will have what we need - and in the right place.
Many of our peers use the wiggle seats. We all want to say thank you for those! It allows the students who need to move, to move without distracting the rest of the class from instruction or the task we are working on. Having these available to all of us is great because any one of us can get one from the basket and use it - for any reason. It has truly helped all of us achieve in Science.
Finally, the new speakers! Wow! We can hear the video clips, morning announcements, anyone using the microphone, etc. It is awesome. So many classes have older speakers and the volume is too low or it sounds gargley. These are great!”

Funded Jan 29, 2021I am very sorry to report that, due to COVID, we have not yet been able to utilize our supplies. Items within the classroom were at a bare minimum and nothing new was to be unboxed and shared. These items are in storage and ready to be put to great use in September. We do greatly appreciate your support and love and are sorry that we haven't been able to put your donation to its full use.
We will share out again once we are able to use the materials and thoroughly explain all of the good work that we did with each item.
Thank you so very much.”

All Fired Up!
Funded Apr 24, 2019It has been unimaginable! The students are so in-tune to the instruction now that they can click buttons and race against the time. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that little clickers (smaller than remotes for a television) would empower students in such a way. They have never been more motivated, more interested, more engaged, or more excited to actually hear what you have to say than now. Geesh, if I only knew this years ago - imagine what I could have accomplished!
It is amazing to see (on my screen) just how knowledgeable (they get the answers correct) and confident (they are often one of the first ones to buzz in) the special education students are. They do not have to get up in front of their peers; they don't need to raise their hand; they don't have to have "eyes" watching them in order to show what they know. I love their new-found freedom of being able to be themselves without hinderance of what others might think or how they may be judged.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to provide materials and equipment to my students who would otherwise go unnoticed and falling through the cracks.”
