My students were thrilled with the new listening center. It added a new center/workstation that allowed them to listen to stories read aloud. Listening to a story read aloud is not just an enjoyable experience but it also provides students with the opportunity to hear correct pronunciation, expressive language, and fluent reading. The best part for students was the wireless capability of the headphones. This meant they did not have to be confined by cords as they enjoyed the stories. This center was and still is a big hit in my classroom.”
I can not begin to express how thankful we are for your donation. The "make a mold kits" will give our class one more opportunity to learn skills that will help them as they move from school to life. One thing our classroom focuses on is vocational skills. Being that our students are Deaf, it can be limiting choosing employment areas. Your generous donation of materials will help teach, production, manufacturing, and general entrepreneurship skills.
We are working toward a self-sustainable program where our students use various business opportunities such as this "I love you in sign language" project, to fund community based learning experiences.
Thank you again for taking the time to help support our students and our program. We hope through collaboration like this, our students will be better prepared and be able to be gainfully employed when their time in our program is finished.”
I can't believe that I didn't upload this earlier! I wrote this thank you several years ago but apparently did not submit it, please forgive me! Thank you so much for your donations toward the ipods for my Autism class. The students LOVED using the iPods and it gave them opportunities to communicate with others. Because of the practice that they received on the iPods, some students even transitioned into more complex devices. For the first time, they were able to communicate needs and wants. Again, I am so sorry for not submitting this thank-you before. We greatly appreciate your donations that allowed our students to be successful with this! We couldn't do it without you!!!”
I cannot thank you enough for the supplies that you donated for my classroom. My students, high-school students from a working class community, love working with the supplies to create beautiful, artistic, and exciting projects. The pictures on our webpage are of a project that the students put together as part of their preparation for the California High School Exit Exam. The supplies you donated made the project fun and dynamic for the kids. As I'm sure you can tell, they are engaged and focused. The students noticed, and wanted me to pass a message on that, for once, they didn't have to go through the process of checking markers and throwing dry ones away, or double-checking the edges of rulers to make sure they weren't chipped before they drew a line.
The most important thing that the kids seemed to react to was the knowledge that people who didn't even know them were supporting them. Though you aren't in the classroom, I can tell every time we take out the supplies that your presence is felt. The students put in extra effort, and work with smiles on their faces. In a few of the pictures, you may notice a student here or there who is trying to edge into the picture, as an attempt to say, "hello" to their donors. In a world where so many things are not guaranteed each day, it is incredible to watch the kids relax into your support. On behalf of myself and my students, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts”
Our goal of raising trout in the classroom has certainly provided us with valuable lessons in tenacity and vision. Although we were unable to secure a chiller this year, we are still optimistic that we will obtain one in the near future and by this time next year, we wiÂÂll be preparing to release our trout into the stream.
We are still looking forward to using the aquarium in our classroom. It will add so much to our classroom. In addition to learning about important concepts related to the diversity of life and ecosystems, we plan on conducting ethological studies with our fish.
Please check back in the Fall to see pictures of our aquarium with the trout.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness, and most of all, for believing in us.

Thank you very much for bringing more books into my classroom! My students this year are very eager to read and so are always looking for new books to read. Last year, we had to keep sharing books and there were not that many books for my emerging readers to pick from. With your help, I have been able to give my students more books to read and so, more ways to practice their reading skills.
They are very excited to pick new books and be able to read the new and exciting books that are in the library. My emerging readers are starting to understand the fundamentals of reading! My class and I thank you for your generous donation!
Thank you for contributing to my classroom library!
My school does not have the funds to buy classrooms Spanish books. We are expected to teach students to read in Spanish but have no books to do so. Additionally, we are to provide students independent reading time everyday but without books for students to choose from, it is nearly impossible to follow through with this.
The books have played a major role in my classroom. The day I received the box and students saw new books on the shelves, they begged me to give them extra reading time so they can explore the books and choose new books for their "book bags". Seeing their eyes open wide, excited to explore new books was a beautiful experience for a teacher.
The books have made independent reading time possible. Students have books to choose from and are excited to read.
Thank you for making reading possible in my classroom. ”
I cannot tell you how much this book club has meant to myself, the dozens of girls who have participated in it, and the adult women who have become mentors for our teen readers. Unfortunately, the future of this club has been in jeopardy for the past two school years because it costs far more to run than we could ever hope to raise in fundraisers. Because of your generous donation, we were able to read four months worth of books and only needed to raise money for the remaining three months of the school year.
I truly wish that you all could attend and participate in one of our meetings. There is an honesty and a candor among the women and the girls that is refreshing and real. We talk about all sorts of issues facing today's teens--from body image to dating to self-esteem. It is one of the most authentic and important groups I've ever had the pleasure of belonging to.
There is no way to thank you for allowing us to meet and talk and laugh and debate for another year. Please know that you have made a huge difference in the lives of twenty (or so) teens in our rural Maine community. Thank you for your support and encouragement. ”
Thank you so much for your donations to my classroom! We've been able to use this system for a year and a half now, and it has made a world of difference.
Every period, my students are able to take ownership of a small slice of our classroom- their box. They know their journals, workbooks, and assignments will be right where they had left them.
It has cut down on the time needed to find supplies, and lost workbooks are at an all-time low! I know most people would think something like a cardboard box for a high schooler was silly, but it truly has been a godsend! I am only able to see my students for 45 minutes per day, so every second counts. The more time I have for instruction, the greater chance our kids have for success.
Thank you so much, you have truly blessed our school in the Arkansas Delta!”

Thank you all so much for your generosity. The gift of literacy is something everyone should receive. These learning tools you have funded will allow me to enhance the chances of my students becoming a member of the reading community.
Teaching can be both challenging and thrilling. In Social Studies, students get the opportunity to step into a world they've never seen before. These tools will act as vehicles to allow them to travel into these new worlds. My students' natural curiosity about the lives of previous generations can and will be fed through these tools. Hopefully many questions will be answered and many unknowns will be brought to light.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Colquitt
