  • ST Math Keeps Students Motivated During Remote Learning!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Your donation to our ST Math Prize project has drastically motivated our students to meet/exceed their goals each week. As you will see in our photos, our school continues to be one of the top schools in Worcester each week in ST Math! The prizes that were part of this project have brought hundreds of smiles to our students faces. On behalf of the Tatnuck Magnet School Community, we are so very grateful for your help in supporting our students in math this year. Our students have been fully remote since September, so receiving these special prizes in the mail for meeting their goals has truly made a difference in their school experience this year.

Thank you for your generosity and support of Tatnuck Magnet!”

    With gratitude,

  • Oh, What a Mathematical World!

    Funded Oct 23, 2019

hank you so much for your donations towards our math software, STmath!! Our kiddos are obsessed with Jiji the penguin and working in the lab! They have built up their fluency skills (adding and subtracting up to 20) as well as solving problems without asking for outside help. They are learning to try different strategies without giving up.

Our mathematicians love the new technology and we utilize it daily: during our math lesson rotations, during centers, free time, and at the end of the day. Without you, this would not have been possible. With state testing coming up, our kiddos are now feeling confident and ready to take on the math test since STmath has provided practice and building strategy confidence.

    Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ackmann Marks

  • Two Chromebooks, Please

    Funded May 1, 2019

Thank you so much for helping fund our two new chromebooks. My kiddos were super excited to see the addition to our technology resources! With the addition of these two new chromebooks, my students have been able to expand their learning and grow as readers. They now have two new chromebooks to use to log onto their Reading Eggs account, which helps them with their reading skills, and to work on their Accelerated Reader quizzes. Your donations are helping my students become strong and fluent readers! So once again, thank you for donating and helping my students succeed!”

The chromebooks are making a huge difference in our class! From struggling learners to learners that need enrichment. Your donation reaches every single learner in my classroom!”

  • Going Chrome 3!

    Funded Apr 16, 2019

Family, friends, and classroom supporters, it is so exciting to let you know that my class utilizes your gift of computers several times a day. The computers have become a very important part in individualizing instruction allowing them to close the gaps in their education, in addition to enriching each student by becoming acquainted with typing and coding programs. My students and I give you a heartfelt "thank you" for making it possible for each student to have a hands-on experience with the technology that has become so important in our world. Thank you!”

Thank you for your generous contribution to our Donors Choose project, Computers! Computers! for our 4th and 5th grade scholars. Through your donations, we were able to purchase 4 new laptop computers for our classroom.

My students love math and the programs we use to support instruction. These lovely scholars will use the computers to progress on ST Math, i-Ready, Edulastic and additionally for Typing Agent.

Our access to the latest technology has added to our abilities in learning.

  • Shirts for Success!

    Funded May 3, 2019

Yesterday was the last day of school and we finally got to open the "secret" box that's been lurking in our classroom. Everyone's been wondering what is inside the box for the last few weeks! Shrieks of excitement do not do the justice to the joy that was brought about by the Jiji/STMath t-shirts. Our kiddos were so enthralled that they got up and started dancing!

These shirts will serve as a reminder of their love for math and the perseverance and confidence Jiji gives them. One student even wore her shirt today for conferences and her mom said she is obsessed with it! You brought so much joy to our classroom due to your donation and I am forever grateful. Thank you again for making a difference in the lives of our students.”

  • iPads for Learning

    Funded Feb 28, 2019

thank you once again for your donations. Not all my students have access to technology. Not everyone has access to Wifi and not everyone has a computer or tablet at home. For some of my students access to technology only occurs in school. There are different very useful academic apps that we can access in our classroom. In kindergarten, my students are learning how to read and with iPads they can listen to books in English and Spanish and see the words as well. This is very helpful for them making the connection to spoken words and reading. It also adds new words to their vocabulary. We also have access to math applications were students can practice mathematical skills that we are learning in class.

These two new iPads have created so much excitement and we are working as a class to take turns using them. We are developing patience and sharing skills, which are great skills to practice. What I love about this is that even the students who were afraid of technology at first are warming up to it now because they are understanding how to use it. New technology can be intimidating because you don't have it at home and no one wants to be embarrassed for making a mistake. We learned about how we learn together and we need to try things in order to learn how to do something. Thank you for this wonderful gift.”
