Furnish a New Art Room!
Funded Aug 13, 2019Words truly cannot describe how grateful I am for all of your donations towards fully furnishing our art classroom here at Springdale Elementary. As we close the first quarter, the students have painted, drawn, and created collage works all made easier by your donations. Having a table to gather around for demonstrations, or catching up students who were absent has had such a positive impact on our classroom environment. Having the additional drying racks has made it so that our students can paint multiple painted papers throughout the day.
From the bottom of the heart THANK YOU!”

Funded Dec 18, 2014Thank you so much for the generous donations towards this project! With your help my "early finishers" will no longer be lost on what they could be drawing with their free drawing time!
Drawing can be very intimidating to students of all ages. These new drawing books will provide lots of ideas for the students as well as step by step instructions on how to draw images that they are interested in drawing.
The students are already loving their books and Zen tangle drawing cards that help inspire and teach them how to doodle and draw!”

Finishing Touches
Funded Apr 8, 2014The students at cane ridge elementary were very excited to receive their new glazes for their ceramic artworks. Once the students completed their clay pieces, thanks to your donations, they had a new assortment of colored glazes to finish their works of art.
The second grade students created coil pots and finished them with the new opalescent glazes. The fourth graders created castles and vases using clay slabs. Both groups were elated to see their finished glazed pieces. It feels like Christmas every time an art teacher opens her kiln!”

Cultivating Mindfulness in School
Funded Feb 12, 2014My students and I thank you for your generous donations to our art room. Practicing yoga in the classroom will help to relax and focus the students' bodies and minds. Our after school yoga club has already begun and the students are loving it! Third and second graders have been using the mats during the school day as well.
My goal is to enrich the lives of my students by teaching them yoga, which can provide them with a means of calming, focus, and physical strengthening. Healthy bodies pave the way for healthy minds! Thank you!!!”

Funded Dec 2, 2013Thank you sooo much for the wonderful painting supplies! The kindergarten students have already been busy learning about their primary colors while studying about the artist Piet Mondrian. Meanwhile, third graders have been learning about mixing secondary and tertiary colors on the color wheel. This is always a favorite of third grades! There truly is no better way to teach color mixing than to have the students actually doing it!
Students at all levels love using paint. Artworks made with good quality paint make the students learning shine :)”

Art Teacher Without A Paper Cutter?
Funded Sep 23, 2013Thank you so very much for your generous donations to make the lives of two art teachers much much easier!
With the gift of a paper cutter, there is so much more that we can do with our students. Cutting paper to proper sizes is now an easy task to complete now that we have the proper tool! We are so grateful that we will not only use this paper cutter on a daily basis, but now be able to matte and frame student artwork more easily for formal events such as Nashville's Mayor's Art Show. The pride students feel from their art being framed is tremendous!
Thank you so much for brightening the lives of our students, while making our jobs a lot easier!”

Funded Oct 5, 2013Thank you so much for the gift of construction paper for our art classroom! Thanks to your generous donations, students at Cane Ridge Elementary will be able to explore so many art concepts and standards.
The attached pictures are of students exploring the layers of landscapes using the construction paper we just received! Students are able to visually demonstration their understanding of the layers of landscapes. Constructing the foreground, middle ground, back ground, and sky from different colors of construction paper helps to further their learning.
Thank you again for the wonderful gifts and for helping to further student learning in art!”

Funded Dec 29, 2011Thank you all very much from the bottom of my heart! The new materials that were donated through the website were such a gift for our students. The products that the students created were much brighter and of an overall greater quality this year than in years past!
The student benefit from working with better materials is the pride that they take in their artwork. Students really appreciated working with the new smelly markers which are brighter and last longer than the ones they are used too. They fell in love with their new paint brushes! Not only were they more comfortable to hold but the bristles all stayed in tack while the students use them. Finally having more paints and construction paper really made for more possibilities in the curriculum!
So thank you donors for all that you've given our students!”

Help Us Start Sculpting!
Funded Jan 13, 2012I cannot thank you enough for the support of my schools art classroom this year. The students thrived from experiencing clay for the first time and the materials truly brought us all joy!
With your help the students were not only able to explore the process of ceramics, but experience it for themselves. Everyone was eager to get their hands dirty in the clay, wondered when they could "paint" their pots, and simply excited to be able to take their work home! In the past, working with modeling clay this was not possible.
So thank you thank you thank you again from the bottom of my heart for what you have given my students this year!”
