Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 28 Spanish speaking K-4 students face many challenges. They come to my classroom with a desire to learn, and I have the opportunity to create lifelong learners! Many of them come from homes where English is not spoken, and family members do not have time to help them avoid bullying in school.

I teach in a school where the children come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and socioeconomic situations.

The majority of my students receive free or reduced lunch, which means their families are struggling financially. Each year I typically have a few students with learning disabilities and speech needs. It is not uncommon to have one third of my students speak English as a second language.

My Project

My students need two copies of Bullying in Schools, Behavior Management Pocket Chart Set and learning tools such as giant magnetic letters and Learn to Count Picture Puzzle Sets. Knowledge will be power for students! The best way to combat bullying is to help our children be better informed, stronger students. If you have knowledge, you have power. The books that I am requesting will be used to talk about what bullying is and how to avoid it or deal with it when it occurs. Often the power of bullying is that the victim is uninformed and ill-equipped to handle a tough situation. The other side of protecting children from bullying is to help them to grow strong, and self-assured. The two Bullying Books, 20 Seat Storage, a Learn to Count! Picture Puzzles, Magnetic Letters Kit, Giant Magnetic Letters, Magnetic Letters, Uppercase and,a Behavior Management Pocket Chart set will be used for literacy and math stations to help the children grow to be stronger students who don't need to push anyone else around to feel power in their lives and to have learned in cooperative groups. Children who feel strong and capable are better equipped to handle a bullying situations.

As an educator, I strongly believe every child in the world deserves an opportunity for a good education.

This project will help provide my students with the knowledge they need to help them develop reading and writing skills. Remember this is our future generation.
