My Students

Imagine trying to write a story and you don't have a pencil or an eraser. It would be frustrating.

I teach in a low poverty elementary school in the Midwest.

90% of our students have free or reduced lunch. Some students come to school without the basic supplies or they bring so little that we run out in the middle of the year. They love to learn but we need supplies to help us out.

My Project

Writing is a main focus of our school this year. So we write, write, and write some more and we use up all our pencils and erasers. Our notebooks are full and we need more notebooks to be able to continue our love of writing. We need chart paper to write together as a class. We also need a pencil sharpener to keep our pencils ready to write.

Having the basic supplies readily available to my students will make our writing experience more fun and exciting.

Writing gives us a chance to voice our opinion or share an adventure.
