Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are unique, creative, fun, talkative, challenging, curious, fearless, thoughtful, loving, and most importantly they are ambitious. My first graders are enthusiastic about learning and they love being at school! I can only imagine the things they will accomplish in the future! Working in cooperative learning groups is a must, especially in first grade. As a teacher, it is my job to ensure that I keep our classroom sanitized/cleaned more frequently. I cannot tell you how many Lysol wipes I have already been through this year! Unfortunately, teachers can't use fee money to purchase these items.

Research has proven that cooperative learning (learning/working in small groups) promotes: student learning and academic achievement, increase student retention, enhances student satisfaction with their learning experience

help students develop oral communication skills, develop social skills, and promote student self-esteem.

The clear storage containers will be used to store students' materials to help separate and organize them while working in math and reading groups.
