My Students

I'm always exploring new ways to engage my students. Some scholars learn best visually. My goal is to meet the needs of diverse learners by updating to a more flexible, learning environment for 21st century students. You can help me do that by helping us to go wireless.

I teach at a model school that incorporates performing arts, visual arts, coding, computer science, STEM, and STEAM within the curriculum.

Our urban school receives federal funding for programs that provide free breakfast and lunch for every student and Title I services to economically disadvantaged boys and girls. We are a school that includes military families, gifted students, ESL students, and the tech savvy. My students are scholars and athletes. We are preparing students for college, the workforce, and the world beyond, so they can have a better life.

My Project

I am requesting a wireless document camera and a wireless interactive whiteboard system from IPEVO. I am in the process of updating our classroom to a flexible, learning environment that will facilitate interactive learning for our diverse learners. The benefit of wireless technology is the freedom that it will bring to our learning. Students will be able to bring the document camera to their desk to share a fragile art project with their peers or to share proof of evidence in text to support their comprehension of a particular reading assignment. Imagine students being able to make any surface in our room into an interactive system. Without wires tying the students and teacher to one spot in the room, learning and discovery can take place anywhere and at anytime.

My vision of a flexible, learning environment is one that will allow my students to take control of their learning.

Being wireless would allow students to collaborate more with their peers and give them the confidence to spread their wings and explore more. Your support of this project can make that possible.
