The worst part of a work meeting? Sitting in the student chairs. And the kids are there for 6 hours a day.
I teach 6th grade English Language Arts to a great group of kids in Brooklyn, NY.
My kids are mostly well behaved but all of them get a little antsy sometimes. Sitting on hard plastic chairs surrounded by other kids for long periods of time is really difficult.
My Project
With chair disks and Bouncy Bands my kids will be able to burn off some of their frustration and jitteriness without disrupting a lesson. The disks are good to wiggle around on and resettle for the rest of the class. The Bouncy Bands are a great way to burn off too much energy without having to get up and move around. While they're reading, they can just move around to release tension and stay focused on their books.
Kids are kids, they need to move and burn off energy.
This unfortunately is in direct contrast to sitting and learning. A little help in the movement department will make them happy and me too when they keep on working.
