What's Your Favorite App? Hands-on Learning for ALL Learners

My students need the iPod touch to engage themselves in hands on learning using up to date technology! They also need cables.

My Students

What's your favorite App? For many of my students, App is a foreign term! In this cutting age of technology many of my students don't have computers, Internet access, or even a telephone.

My Florida fourth grade students are from various backgrounds.

The challenge facing many of my students is that they come from low income homes. They do not have technology in their homes. I also serve several ESE students (students with special needs). Technology in the classroom increases understanding and helps students to succeed and prepare for real world situations. My students will benefit from using iPod technology. My students are excited about technology and are not afraid of using it. They dive right in and explore. My students love technology and are 21st century learners who benefit from using technology in the classroom.

My Project

The iPod touch will impact my students in a positive way! My students will have the opportunity to use technology to increase their understanding and knowledge of a concept. The use of iPod touches in the classroom will allow my students to practice different literacy and math skills during center time. The students will be able to use different literacy and math apps during center time to increase their understanding and literacy and math skills. The interactive games will be integrated during whole group instruction to serve as a tool to increase math and literacy skills and as an informal assessment to assess students understanding of concepts. This is beneficial because students who need extra support will receive the instruction they need to succeed. Technology is an important piece in education. Technology allows students to stay engaged and increase their understanding and knowledge of a concept.

I am so excited to dream the dream with my class.

The iPod touch would be a answer to our prayers! We are already looking for Apps that we can add for center time! Thank you for making a difference in the lives of some very special kids!
