At James Irwin Charter Elementary, our students are eager to be active participants in their learning and need more hands-on materials to bring real world experiences into the classroom.

JICES is a positive, praise-oriented school that does not hesitate to let students know that they are valued and admired for their hard effort.
My students are like little sponges that are ready to soak up knowledge. They are very confident in their academic ability and thrive in our positive environment.
My Project
Having an Ant Farm Kit and a Butterfly Kit in our classroom will enable students to bring out their natural curiosity. My students will be able to become "little scientists" and go through scientific discovery and notation by observing how ants or social insects. Students will also gain firsthand experience in learning and studying the life cycle of butterflies. Both of these kits will greatly enhance our science units.
Having both the Ant Kit and the Butterfly Kit available to my students will bring our units on insects and butterflies to higher level of understanding.
Students are curious and what better way to feed their need for knowledge than to bring a lesson to life.
