Technology Ready for the 21st Century

My students need 13 Android tablets, two charging stations, and two surge protectors to help build and maintain a competitive edge in today's growing technology-driven classrooms.

My Students

My students are hungry for technology! The students in my class would love to stay competitive with schools and students who have easy access to technology and all that it offers. My students are in dire need of tablets to help them grow and excel in today's highly technological educational world.

My students are a wonderful, active, hands-on group of individuals.

On a typical day, my students work together to help one another out with problem solving and learning. My school is located in an area that is a mix of middle- and low-income households. Having said that, my students do not let their limitations at home hold them back at school. When they are at school, my students are actively involved in taking control of their day and their learning. They sing, they laugh, they look out for each other. Having ready access to tablets would help to advance my students into the 21st century and help them become lifelong learners and lovers of technology.

My Project

My students will use their new Android tablets for a variety of educational purposes. They will perform research for nonfiction reports, look up a favorite author, practice their math facts, and strengthen their sentence writing and grammar skills by utilizing online educational activities and apps designed to help students grow the skills necessary to succeed and become college and career ready. My students will also be able to work with partners or independently on a variety of tasks. These tablets would also be used as a technology center for a variety of subjects including science, math, spelling, and social studies. These tablets could be used during whole class lessons, group activities, and during independent working periods.

Donations to this project will help to improve all subject areas in school.

My students will be able to access areas of technology and unlock learning potential that they could not without these tablets. Having tablets with charging stations and surge protectors would also help my students to reinforce and practice what they have learned about being responsible citizens. They will demonstrate that they know how to take care of technology and use it appropriately. By donating to this project, you are helping to open doors for my students.
