Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to learn from other teachers and students in different parts of the world using the latest technology?
Our school is located in a lower-income suburb in Texas.
We have a very diverse student body but their experience of the world is limited. Most of them have been exposed to some form of technology, but some do not even have computers in their homes. Most of their experience with technology is in the form of cell phones and video games.
My Project
I am collaborating with teachers all over the world to create a global classroom using Skype and video-conferencing. This equipment will allow us to communicate with classrooms in places such as Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil. We will learn about each others culture, customs, and environment. We will also create videos to share what we are learning with the students around the world. This project will not only broaden the students' understanding of the world, but they will be learning how to use technology in a new and exciting way!
Our school just recently acquired document cameras and projectors but we do not have smartboards or other advanced technology.
This project will expose our students to a world of learning they have never experienced before. The use of technology in the classroom will prepare them for jobs and other situations that require the use of technology.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
