This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
As students prepare for colleges and careers, teachers are increasingly seeking ways to integrate youths' technology uses and interests into planning and assessment. Our teachers are seeking to have students build bridges between classrooms, and their out-of-school experiences with technology.
Specifically, sixth- to twelfth-grade students in our performing-and visual-arts school have created and shown student- written and directed short films in local film festivals, and have composed, performed, and directed a short film on uses of technology and education for the White House first-annual student film festival.
These creative, artistic, and educational practices build upon and extend teachers daily lessons on reading, writing, and editing while they also address Common Core State Standards for ÃÂusing technology, including the Internet, to produce, publish, and update individual or shared writing products in response to ongoing feedback, including new arguments or information.
We are requesting one GoPro camcorder with your assistance, to take our student-created film productions to the next level. We are seeking to parallel students out-of-class experiences with classroom teaching and learning toward colleges and careers.
Your donation toward our GoPro camcorder will allow for a camera to be used across secondary English classrooms, enhancing students' experiences in writing, filmmaking, editing, and sharing their work with local and potentially global audiences.
You donate directly to the teacher or project you care about and see where every dollar you give goes.
