This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher at a Title 1 Magnet school, my students come to me from many different and challenging home situations. Despite where they are coming from, I focus on making the community a safe and supportive environment.
My student's desire success!
This can only be achieved by having the right tools and resources available to all of my students.
They are eager and willing to learn and work hard, as long as they are respected, recognized and rewarded.
My Project
COVID 19 has put challenges on all of us. By supplying each of my students with the basic supplies they need to complete school work, we are helping level the playing field. Our district has offered all students electronic devices to borrow, but sometimes they will need to write it down.
Notebooks, folders, pencils, erasers, highlights and earbuds will create an amazing back to school kit!
These supplies will be able to be used either at home for distance learning, or in the classroom if we return.
By supplying my young scholars with these basic needs we are showing them that there is more to school than what we can do with technology. We are also showing their parents we are in this together and the burden is not theirs alone during distance learning.
