This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Work stations and supplies are desperately needed to provide quality small group instruction.

Our school is an inner city, Title 1 school in Texas.

Many of my students are not reading on grade level and some students don't have access to reading materials at home. With budget cuts in the last couple years, teachers are having to buy many supplies and learning equipment. This is my first year in 2nd grade, so I have spent a lot of money out of my own pocket to help provide quality stations and lessons for my students, but we still need more.

My Project

These resources will enhance my students' learning experience at work stations and Daily 5. They will have a new reading response and word work station. And have enough dry erase markers to complete the school year. Right now they can not choose stations with markers because we do not have any. At these stations, they will learn to spell, read, write and build new words. Reading on grade level is my goal for all my students. Quality work stations and small group instruction will help my students and I achieve this goal!

They will gain word knowledge and comprehension knowlede with their new reading work stations. These two things will provide them with a solid language arts foundation for 3rd grade and beyond!
