We are building our way to a sturdy future by putting materials in students' hands to enable them to build structures that can withstand forces of nature.
I teach first through fifth grade gifted students at a public school in Georgia.
They are so enthusiastic about learning. My students are very inquisitive and love to learn and explore. My students really enjoy hands-on learning and project based learning. They love having their hands involved in their learning.
My Project
I am requesting KNEX simple machines and gears for students to get hands-on experience with building structures with the use of simple machines. The Newtonian Demonstrator will explain Newton's 3rd Law of Motion. Disc magnets, floating rings, and a cow magnet will help students understand and see magnetic fields when used with iron filings.
Do you want someone to build a bridge or do construction on your house if that person never had experience building and manipulating materials?
Of course not. I want to give my elementary students the opportunity to read and follow directions and diagrams to build and construct houses, bridges, and more.
