My science students need books for silent reading time. Your generosity with my first donors choose grant filled one shelf. We've got three more to go!
My students are eager and curious to learn about science.
Approximately 70% of my students are at or below poverty level, and 50% come from families where English is not the first language in the home. The reading resources we have in our classroom greatly expand their perspective on science and help them build a variety of skills.
My Project
Stories are the most interesting way to learn. Every day, I tell my students that they are already scientists, that everything in their world involves science. The books I've selected help to reinforce this, giving students the opportunity to read about science and sports, science and cooking, science and rollercoasters.
Most of the books on this list are not in our school library.
Students are devouring the first set of books you provided them with your donations. At the rate my students are reading, we will need another round of books in the next month. These books are actively used throughout all my classes.
More than half of students from low‑income households
