My Students

“The best way to create a genuine "responsibility era" -- a genuine commitment to families and to the values they reflect -- is to begin with those to whom we owe the greatest responsibility -- those whom we most value -- our kids. Let's not just talk about it -- let's put kids first.” Senator Kerry

The Eaglebots are a group of 4th - 8th grade students that come from a variety of title 1 schools located on the east side of Silicon Valley.

Being in the heart of technology these students want and are encouraged to work on making a difference for our world. They have participated in First Lego League and have designed and programmed their NXT bots to create world wide solutions to real world needs such as Natural Disasters, Senior Living, and Nutrition. This group of students are role models in responsibility and values in their schools and in the community.

My Project

My classroom currently has two NXT Bricks but the bricks are running on regular batteries which get drained very quickly and is not environmentally sound. With a rechargeable battery our NXT brick will Lego's will keep our bricks running and is a positive impact to the environment. The software will allow the students prebuilt NXT robot drive through various environments and will help students create : a virtual test environment for building, customizing, and learn with the NXT robot. Their goal is to innovative and create a solution to a real world problem. The robot and software will only help lead them to their innovated dreams.

For many of my students, the concepts of science, engineering, and robotics are in their backyard yet the materials they need to participate is out of reach.

The impact in continuing their programming and design is endless..They may invent the next technology, or discover the next cure. One thing is for sure they will be leaders in responsibility and values.
