This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This could be the year that magic happens in my classroom and my students learn to read and learn to love books!!!

My students have Learning Disabilities and Autism.

Most are English Language Learners and come from low income homes. They hunger to learn to read, but this precious ability has eluded many of them for their entire lives. I want them to learn to love books!

My Project

I am requesting 1 bookshelf, 1 set of Dr. Seuss books with Cd's, and 3 headphones to listen as they are learning to read and learning to love to read. I am creating an exciting, inviting, and comfortable space for my students to relax with a good book and read-along to books on CD. Students will learn to love books while gaining confidence in learning to read. They will develop a positive relationship with reading.

With limited school budgets, it is difficult to create the kind of environment that will help our students thrive in school.

I want to create a reading center that provides my students with the materials they need to become reading enthusiasts!
