My students need audio books to support the reading curriculum and foster a love of stories. These 36 titles include The Cat in the Hat: Book & CD, "Day Is Done," Little Bear Collections-CD, and many more.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Do you remember the joy of having a story read to you when you were five? I loved being read to, and I want my students to be able to have that same experience while still meeting academic expectations.
After two years of planning, our school is ready to open this fall.
We are opening in a neighborhood where the students are often overlooked and underserved in the schools. Our charter school will offer scholars a chance for individualized instruction, a strong school community, and a focus on college readiness. We are a small school, with only five classes right now, but our numbers are growing by leaps and bounds. Our kindergarten is full, so full we may have to add another section!
My Project
I have met this year's scholars, and they are excited to start kindergarten! I want them to start the year off right - with lots of books to read and listen to. Reading is going to be our largest focus and in order for me to provide the best possible instruction my students need to be able to "read" books before they actually learn to read! Listening centers and audio books can provide just that.
Listening centers give my scholars the chance to practice following along with the words in a book, recognize familiar words in print, and learn how to pronounce tricky words. They also help English language learners hear the spoken word. Audio books can also provide a glimpse into worlds of adventure and imagination, something every child should have the opportunity to experience.

My goal is to teach a generation of scholars who love reading so much they get in trouble for reading books when they should be paying attention to me!
