Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school enthusiastic and ready to learn! Despite living in a city with high poverty levels (every student receives free breakfast and lunch), many students working toward proficiency in English, and a city that has been hit hard with the recent Coronavirus pandemic, they persevere and come to school with a smile.
This group of students is made up of 23 fifth grade students, and is a co-taught classroom, meaning almost 1/2 are students with an IEP for a variety of disabilities, with the general and special education teacher that work together.
My students are very creative, extremely appreciative of everything that is provided in school, and always up for a challenge!
My Project
We have recently returned to in person learning. While we were all at home, we were able to complete assignments on chrome books. As we have returned to the classroom we would like to give students a much needed break from screen time during the school day.
Reusable writing boards provide a paper free, marker free way for students to show what they know!
With access to these reusable boards, students will be able to show all of their math work, answer multiple choice questions, and doodle during downtime, all without paper, pencils or erasers!!
