We understand in my art room that visual images can really tell a story. We hope to use our artistic skills to encourage healthy eating through an original collaborative eBook to promote good nutrition and gardening.
We are a K-5 elementary art classroom with creative, talented, and artistically expressive children who would LOVE to author a book that they can read on an art room iPad and download to their device at home.
We are hoping to raise money for an iPad so that students can create a story that would inspire others to explore healthy eating choices, try some gardening, and embrace good nutrition.
My Project
We will use an app called Book Creator when we receive the iPad to collaboratively create an eBook made from digital photos of student artwork. Students will add their voices to their creations to make the book interactive. They will also turn themselves into healthy eating advocates as they pose with their favorite garden vegetable. These images will be digitally collaged with their healthy eating creatures to make a fun and informative image that will inspire good nutrition. These images will be collected into a musical sideshow video that will also be included in the eBook for all to enjoy.
We are so excited about the idea of creating our own digital media to share our ideas as we advocate for healthy eating.
