My Students

A typical day in my classroom is fun and crazy with LOTS of learning going on- and not just the students are learning, I learn from them every day.

My students are amazing, truly.

They are full of love and have a strong desire to learn. They have genuinely good hearts and really try their best daily. Don't get me wrong, there are of course those few that make me want to pull my hair out on a daily basis- but we're a family and we stick together!

My Project

The carpet that I am requesting is needed very badly in our classroom. In Kindergarten, all of students' learning and lessons take place during Carpet Time. The students sit on the carpet and the teacher reads to them, teaches them new skills, etc. Little ones like my Kindergarteners are just too young to be able to learn at their desk. They need to be close to the teacher and in a comfortable spot to be able to listen, ask questions, and stay focused. The carpet that we have now is VERY small; my students are constantly bumping into each other or in each others personal space, which makes for problems and time taken away from teaching to diffuse arguments. In addition to the tiny size of the carpet, it is very old and many a Kindergartener has vomited or had an accident on their carpet. It is old, stained, stinky, and really been through the ringer over the years. Having a carpet with enough room will allow each child their own space to be able to sit comfortably and learn.

Having a nice carpet to sit on will mean so much to my students.

They spend a large part of their day sitting on it to learn, and they deserve a place to sit that gives them enough room and is fresh and clean.
