My students can't get enough of reading! The books selected are very popular among my students and will be put to great use. In fact, we may have to create 'waiting lists' for some of them! I have selected all box sets of highly popular authors in my classroom.
The students in my classroom are highly motivated learners and kind and appreciative students.
Many of them are immigrants and are the only members of their family who speak English. The majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and many do not have access to grade-level books at home. With the help of your donation, students will now have the opportunity to read books that they are interested in.
My Project
Students will use the books to increase their reading level, thus helping them to be successful in other academic areas and later on in life. All of the books selected correspond with our reading program, which allows students to take a short comprehension test to help determine their understanding of the book. We are also requesting notebook paper, which will be used by the students in all academic areas, including writing and mathematics.
The donated books will help to further foster a love of reading in my students.
The books will also help further develop their comprehension skills, which will transfer over to other academic areas.
