This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you remember your first musical experience? Do you remember the excitement, the joy? This is how my students come to my music class every single day. With all the turmoil surrounding my students in their neighborhoods, music class is a place of peace and stability.
My students are in the middle of the looting and rioting of recent days.
They look forward to coming to school where things are stable and secure. They come to music class eager to learn. Musical instruments open their minds to creativity! A soprano metallophone would help my students reach their creative potential.
My Project
Having a soprano metallophone in our music room would help us achieve our music goals. My students will be able to compose, accompany, and improvise! Also, music has the ability to heal. My students need healing due to the violence going on in their neighborhoods. It is my hope that my students use the new metallophone to help them heal and reach their fullest potential.
Your donation will help my students realize their full music potential.
By adding a soprano metallophone, we will be able to create both melodies and harmonies, in a town where harmony is so sorely needed. Adding another timbre to our music making helps us to celebrate the rich diversity found in the colors of music!
