Every morning starts out with the students walking up to the smart board and checking in for the day (they tap their avatar, I use the information for attendance). The program I use is called Class Dojo. This program allows the students to check their behavior throughout the day.
I have a wonderful group of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.
We are in a rural village in western Alaska. The student body is 100 percent native population. The school is composed of kindergarten through twelfth grade. The students here love volleyball and basketball. The students here are Yupik and many of the families continue to subsist off the land.
My Project
The Mac Mini will be used in conjunction with our classroom smart board. The interactive capabilities will allow students to take charge of their learning. I have several interactive programs which the students will be able to use which will create an excitement for learning. The wireless mouse/keyboard will be used to control the computer from a distance. With installing Microsoft Office students will be able to display projects they have completed.
Having these donations will create a more technological learning environment.
Students will be more engaged in their learning because they will be a part of it. They will be able to interact with different lessons and games. Using this technology will prepare the students for a future where technology is a constant.
