Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Both the yearbook and the weekly video news program are student run projects. Much of the current equipment, especially the camera, is antiquated and does not interface with the other equipment being used. The students become frustrated as they are the ones troubleshooting the problems.

My students are a group of kids that have taken an interest in technology journalism in the form of the school yearbook and a weekly video news program.

They have taken their responsibility for these projects very personally in which they strive to achieve perfection in their productions. They have learned to delve into interesting subjects; they have questioned their sources and facts; they have edited and rewritten to produce accuracy and a project they can take pride in. They are taking on the yearbook with great challenges ahead of them as they work with limited resources and must creatively produce a well developed product. My students are excited to face and overcome these demanding journalist challenges and with a professional grade camera their enthusiasm and vision can be achieved.

My Project

As these projects are solely the creative products of the students the appropriate equipment will provide them with the resources to produce the quality of work they are striving to achieve. As they currently struggle with the hodgepodge of equipment, the new camera will free up their time to create the quality product that they have challenged themselves to produce.

This project will provide my students with the tools that they need to be challenged and unlimited creativity as they produce their yearbook and weekly video news program.

They will have the tools that are industry standard and use devices that will be useful to them now and in the future. This camera will truly provide the students with a feeling of success and accomplishment as they see their creativity and work come to live on paper and video.
