My Students

What is the first thing you want to do when you walk into a music classroom? Play the instruments, of course! In room 25, we sing, we dance, we listen, and we make our own music. Unfortunately, most of our instruments are not in good enough condition to allow our little musicians to make music.

Students at our little school love having the opportunity to create their own music.

They like to move around, they enjoy friendly competition, and they take pride in their work. Most of these students are only exposed to music at school; their community isn't able to provide extra music experiences or opportunities. I love watching my students having fun in music class, especially when instruments are involved! Having more instruments and resources on hand will get their creative juices flowing and help us take music to the next level.

My Project

Beat and rhythm are essential to music. We start introducing stead beat in kindergarten, and we gradually incorporate new rhythms with increasing difficulty. Grades K-5 would use these instruments to practice these skills, accompany songs, and improvise their own rhythms.

I cannot wait to see the look on my students' faces when they see these new drums.

On the rare occasion that we do use the few drums that are in playing condition, it turns into a waiting game. With these instruments, more students will get to play and practice more often, which will only encourage their love for music. Thank you so much for your help and contribution to our classroom!
