Wouldn't you rather buy clothes in your specific size rather than an item labeled "one size fits all"? Well the same is true for the learning in my kindergarten classroom. "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." -- Dr. Seuss
My students are enthusiastic, loving five year olds.
We love exploring together and learning things through play. Our school is a community that includes children who are learning to speak English as well as those with varying types of disabilities. They all come in with their own special strengths and we work together to expand on these strengths and to develop academic skills. Many of our students do not have access to technology at home, and we seek to provide them with many different opportunities. Our community is going through a trying time right now. We are getting off to a late start, and we need to maximize the use of our time in order to provide our students with the best possible outcome.
This project will allow me to closely monitor each child's progress. With this specialized information, I can design activities and lessons that personally fit each child's needs. Every child will be able to make better progress through individual feedback and learning plans. In addition, the students will be able to access the device during guided reading, math and center times to practice skills in a high-interest format. A touchscreen device is much easier for a young child to navigate, and it's portable, allowing my young students the flexibility of working where they are comfortable.
My students will benefit from the addition of this project to our classroom.
Being able to assess young children individually is essential to finding out what their strengths and weaknesses are. This will allow me to support every child, no matter their skill level. A donation to my project is a donation to the future of a child.
