Do you love to learn? I do, and I want my students to grow up loving to learn also.
I teach 2nd grade in a low-economic school in Mississippi.
Most of my students are not exposed to technology at home. They need this exposure in order to be ready for college and eventually a job. They are smart students who can learn quickly, if given the proper exposure.
My Project
I am requesting an iPod touch for our classroom. My students will listen to books on an iPod touch. They will practice reading skills and math facts on the apps I will buy to install on the iPod touch. I will also use it for interventions of the lowest students in my class. Finding interventions is very challenging. Usually the students who need interventions have a very low attention span. An iPod touch will capture their attention and keep them interested.
I want to reach every child in my room and make them all life-long learners.
I appreciate any help I receive. I love teaching and watching the kids respond. I do lots of hands-on learning in my class. I believe we all learn best by doing things, not taking notes. An iPod touch would allow the students to be actively involved in their learning.
