After working really hard for almost two years at fundraising, grant writing, and winning contests, my art students finally have the chance to create on iPads in a 1:1 environment!
Our class set of iPads needs to withstand use from over 500 kindergarteners through fifth graders as we draw animate, write, research, curate our online art gallery, and so much more.
The art room is a busy place so strong and durable iPad cases are a must.
My Project
We currently have thin fabric iPad cases that have already proven a poor choice for our messy space. Table tops or hands that didn't get perfectly clean left evidence of their use on fabric that refuses to clean up. Our new iPad cases are made of rubber so we will be able to clean and disinfect each device on all surfaces. They have a handle for safe carrying across our tile flooring and surround the iPad with thick layer of break resistant material.
Not only will these iPad cases protect our resources, they will add functionality.
For example, the iPads cameras will be used to create stop motion animations. The cases we want are designed with a built-in stand to make these videos possible. As an added bonus they are color coded to help students quickly find their iPad and get to work.
