Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a school family! My motto is firm, fair, and friendly. We laugh together and learn together. Each morning we greet each other, students are able to share, and we do an activity to get us up and moving to start our day. A typical day in our classroom is engaging and fun!

My students work extra hard and truly enjoy learning.

I have a very academically diverse group of students. Gifted students and students with learning disabilities combined make up about half of my class this school year. Everyone is accepted, and we work together as a learning community to help each other.

My Project

I have requested 5 iPads and 5 iPad cases. My students will use the iPads all day, every day! They will be used daily during literacy and math station rotations to better reach the students' learning needs. Access to educational apps such as WonderBox, BrainPOP Jr., Sushi Monster, and HMH Readers will make learning stations more fun! The AR and Audibook apps are also two more of our favorites! When we are not working on stations, the iPads will be used for student intervention and enrichment across the curriculum, using programs such as iStation. You will never see the iPads sitting around unused in our classroom!

We currently only have ONE iPad.

The kids are great about sharing, but with 21 students one iPad is simply not enough! Your donation to this project will help my classroom run more effectively through keeping my students engaged, which will enable me to better differentiate learning to meet all students' needs.
