My students are a lively bunch of fourth graders in the Seattle area who absolutely are enamored by technology. Unfortunately, due to several budget cuts in our district, technology is the first thing cut!
My students are such fast learners and technology takes everything instantly to "the next level".
Our class is fortunate to have some technology in our classroom, but that technology is limited to four, very old computers that have been handed down in our building for years. We are always adding new concepts and new layers of learning in our classroom and technology is a great way to make sure that learning is connected day to day. An iPad would be the perfect way to engage all students, while giving students daily access and time with technology that may not otherwise happen.
My Project
Currently we have a small cart of iPads which is shared between all 350 students at our school, so access to those technologies are rare. By funding an iPad for our classroom, students will be able to complete daily learning tasks in math, literacy, science, and social studies. An iPad would also bring a wealth of resources into our classroom! Students would be able to instantly do research using digital resources, share, create, and view PowerPoint presentations, use iMovie to create digital book reports and share daily classroom events on our classroom blog through pictures and videos to engage family members as well! iPads are user friendly, easily portable, and would instantly bring the world to their fingertips!
The new iPad will allow students to have greater exposure to technology within our school day.
With 28 students in our classroom, students have limited access to the technology at school and an iPad would allow students to have daily access to engaging and exciting technology. Without donors like you, my students would not otherwise have access to these technologies. Thank you in advance for your generous donations!
