Schools today are embracing iPads, Chrome Books and other interactive devices. Recently I applied/received four Chrome Books from a Donor's Choose project as well as four iPads from a local organization. Now I need to find a secure cart to store and charge these classroom devices.
I teach a group of 25 very tech savvy second graders.
We have a unique classroom model where students get to pick various learning spaces throughout the day that best match their learning styles. They pick to work in the following areas at different types of the day: independent work spaces, small group, partner or teacher instruction (help station). My students are frequently engaged in 21st century learning and communication through interactive websites, a classroom SMART Board, clickers, You Tube, Twitter, Blogger, iPads, Chrome Books and much more!
My Project
As a Google Certified Teacher, TIES Exceptional Teacher and building Teacher of the Year I am always looking for opportunities to bring my students to the next level. My students are already successfully using iPads in various content areas. With the addition of our new Chrome Books, 8-16 out of 25 students will be able to be on a device at any time. We often hear the buzz words "21st century learning" but what does that mean? Having an easy place to store/charge my iPads and Chrome Books is essential is having quick access to technology.
Many educators are defining 21st century learning as the four C's: Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking and Creativity.
Having many devices in my classrooms allows me to more frequently work on those skills. Having a storage/charging cart will make it easy for them to use the devices any time, as they will be charge and organized.
